Cal. 38-55. S# 417749. Bbl. 26". Model 1894 lever action rifle, mfg. by Winchester in 1907. Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked on the left towards the breech. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight grip buttstock and forend. Brass-tipped blade front sight, with V-notch semi-buckhorn rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Lever and buttplate retain a mostly gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light to mild pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-5888/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
