CARBINE. Cal. 32 WS. S# 241982. Bbl 20". Model 1894 saddle ring carbine manufactured by Winchester in 1902. The top of the barrel bears Winchester's 2 line address and the caliber designation, with "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" on the left. Right side of buttstock is stamped "A.M. BRIGGS". Metal components are blued, with the buttstock and forend consisting of smooth wood. Receiver has been drilled and tapped for a Williams aperture rear sight. Replacement blade brass beaded front sight, with the original rear sight having been removed. CONDITION: receiver exhibits cleaning overall. with areas of mild surface pitting. Barrel and magazine tube retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning. Lever exhibits surface oxidation overall. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting and fair to good rifling throughout. Wood furniture exhibits some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but otherwise is good overall.
