Cal. 25-35. S# 652895. Bbl 26". Model 1894 lever action takedown rifle manufactured by Winchester in 1913. The left side of the barrel is stamped with Winchester's 2 line address, with the caliber designation stamped at the breech. Brass beaded blade front sight with Marble's semi-buckhorn U-notch rear sight, and tang mounted aperture rear sight. Full length magazine tube. Plain wood straight grip buttstock with crescent buttplate, with a plain wood forend. Lever is a replacement. CONDITION: frame exhibits a gray patina overall, with some areas of striations from cleaning. Barrel and magazine tube exhibit wear and thinning to their original factory blue finish, that shows through to a pleasing brown patina. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting in the grooves and retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Forend bears a small loss on the right rear corner. (23-3046/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
