SRC. Cal. 38-55 WCF. S# 753920. Bbl. appears to be shortened to 16" round carbine style. Pinned blade front sight w/ carbine leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Blue finish. 8" Trapper length walnut forearm (1" shorter than standard). Straight grip walnut stock w/ steel carbine buttplate. Serial number indicates 1914 mfg. CONDITION: over 95% finely reblued finish showing marks & spots of finish loss on action. Area around front sight boss shows small holes & plum coloring where it was welded to the bbl. Wood has good open grain refinish. Very good bright bore. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (24-715). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
