Cal. 35 WCF. S# 67791. Bbl. 23 7/8". Model 1895 mfg. in 1913. Standard factory markings on receiver and bbl. denoting Winchester's mfg. and patent information, as well as the cal. designation. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Smooth wood ebony inlaid schnabel tip forearm and straight grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Toeline of buttstock is drilled, seemingly to reinforce the stock, with the screw head having sheared off. Lyman blade front sight (bead absent) with replacement dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Top of bbl. is drilled and tapped with 2 holes and plug screws. Forward plug screw's head has sheared off. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, showing areas of wear that are fading to gray and brown patinas, with scattered superficial handling marks and light surface oxidation overall. Dark bore, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting and oxidation while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a crack on either side of the toe that stems from the buttplate.
