Cal. 35 WCF. S# 56918. Bbl. 23 7/8". Model 1895 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1907. Top of the bbl. is marked with the cal. designation towards the breech, with Winchester's mfg. and patent information marked on the left side of the receiver. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight grip buttstock, with Winchester checkered black plastic buttstock, and ebony inlaid schnabel tip forend. Buttstock has been sanded and revarnished at one time. Dovetailed Marbles No. 6 blade front sight (bead is absent), with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver, mag. housing, and lever assembly retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas overall. Bbl. retains the majority of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, with some scattered superficial handling marks present overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Buttstock exhibits a small crack beneath the varnish, that stems from the buttplate. Bottom of buttplate exhibits a small chip. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1835/MLW).
