RIFLE. Cal. 22 S, L. NSN. Bbl. 18". Model 1902 single shot bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester between 1902-1931. Top of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood straight grip buttstock appears to have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Dovetailed blade front sight, with dovetailed aftermarket peep rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray and brown patinas, as well as light to mild surface oxidation/pitting overall. Bolt shows scattered areas of light to mild pitting, as well as spots of age related discoloration. Dark pitted bore, retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a chip present on the left side at the rear of the receiver, a crack on the right side at the rear of the receiver, as well as a large repair on the toe of the butt.
