RIFLE. Cal. 22 S, L, EL. NSN. Bbl. 21". Model 1904 single shot bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester between 1904-1931. The left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood straight grip schnabel tip buttstock has been sanded and revarnished at one time. Aftermarket dovetailed aluminum beaded blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain trace to fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray and brown patinas, with light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Bolt shows scattered spots of age related discoloration, as well as some spots of light pitting. Dark bore, exhibiting scattered spots of deep and dark pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Stock shows some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-1804/MLW). CURIO. $200-350.
