All chambers are 2-3/4" except the 28" Mod & Full, which has 3" chambers. All barrel sets have Winchester info on the left sides, have 3" triangles of scroll engraving at the breech ends, and are S#'d with the action. Factory letter indicates three sets of barrels were fitted to a field-grade action in 1979–80. Information regarding the fourth barrel set, custom carving, and engraving is unknown. Blued standard-type action with Winchester info on the engine-turned watertable is fitted with non-automatic safety and a blued single selective trigger. Action is engraved and gold-inlaid in grand American style, with near-full coverage and varying-size scrolls within geometric borders. This scroll surrounds circular and oval scenes of dogs and birds; major subjects are rendered in semi-relief gold with a setter on the left, a pointing pointer on the right, a pair of pheasants feeding on the ground on the trigger plate, and a spaniel's head on the trigger guard bow. Gold inlay is well done and nicely detailed. Fences are engraved with oak leaves. No engraver's signature is found. Pistol grip cap is engraved to match and has a gold-inlaid rope-type outline. Pistol grip stock of stump-figured American walnut measures 14-1/4" over a black, thin leather-covered pad. Grip checkering is of 21 B carved type with fleur-de-lis and ribbons through pattern. Barrels are serviced by two matching beavertail forends marked "1" and "2" on engine-turned irons with corresponding numbers on loops. Forends are braced but do not have contrasting forend tips.
