PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410, 3". S# 163530. Bbl. 26" w/ fixed skeet choke & Simmons 5/16" deluxe vent rib. Features include large oval hollow rib posts, white Bradley front sight & Lyman white no. 11 center bead. Left side of rib is marked "SIMMONS GUN SPECIALTIES INC. KANSAS CITY, MO". Custom wood mfg. by Fajen for Simmons retailed shotguns. Beavertail forearm w/ 3 panel checkering having uncheckered center diamond on bottom panel. Pistol grip walnut stock w/ skeet pattern hand checkering & engraved silver finished grip cap. LOP: 13 7/8" to Winchester plastic buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: accompanied by card from Don Combs display giving the following description, "This gun is very rare in the fact is was bought from Winchester in the white by Simmons Gun Specialties, fitted with Fagen wood & Simmons vent rib; then sold for $20.00 less than what Winchester sold their guns. It is possibly the only one in existence in its original box. Simmons did this only in 1962 and 63, Manufactured in 1962.". Supporting materials include Simmons Gun Specialties Inc 1962 catalogs picturing & describing the Simmons Deluxe vent rib skeet guns. 2 copies of 1962 catalog dealer price list effective June 15, 1962. 2 loose leaf sheets advertising Simmons vent ribs & other products that show apparent insect damage. Original box w/ properly numbered white label. Box contains dividers & paper. Box shows light water damage & tattering. CONDITION: appears unfired retaining over 98% Simmons blue w/ some slide wear. Original stock finish shows small spots of mildew from box storage. Bright near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: The estate collection of Don "Duck" Combs. (24-2493/DS). CURIO. $3,500-5,500.
