Cal. 30 WCF. S# 25432A. Bbl. 20". Model 54 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1929. Left side of bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by the Winchester trademark logo and "-NICKEL STEEL-", with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Left side of bbl. is marked with the cal. designation at the breech. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock with grasping grooves on either side of the forearm. Stock appears to have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Bottom of grip is stamped "D./ C.S. Co./ 3" Brass beaded blade front sight, with 2-leaf U-notch rear sight. Receiver has been drilled and tapped over the top of the chamber. CONDITION: very good overall, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few scattered areas of mild wear and thinning (primarily on the forward half of the bbl., on the bolt knob, as well as on the trigger guard and floorplate), with some superficial handling marks, as well as a some light surface oxidation present overall. Mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Wood stock exhibits scattered superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, as well as a crack on the left side of the wrist that stems from the trigger guard tang, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-2044/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,000.
