RIFLE. Cal. 32 WS. S# 1080252. Bbl. 24 1/2". Model 55 mfg. in 1930. The Model 55 is the only Winchester rifle produced that is more common to find in a takedown configuration than a solid frame. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight grip forearm and stock, with grooved flat steel buttplate. Ramp mounted Lyman brass beaded blade front sight, with flat top sporting rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing areas of wear and thinning fading to gray, with some light handling marks. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is very good, showing a few light handling marks, with 2 1/2" tight hairline crack present on the left side of the forearm. (25-1719/MLW). CURIO. $2,250-3,500.
