Cal. 22 S, L, LR. NSN. Bbl. 18". Model 58 single shot bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester between 1928-1934. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by the model and cal. designations, as well as the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood straight grip buttstock has been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. German silver blade front sight, with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray and brown patinas, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Bolt shows scattered spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a small crack on the left side at the rear of the receiver. (25-1793/MLW). CURIO. $200-400.
