Cal. 22 LR. S# 79320. Bbl. 23". Model 63 semi-automatic rifle, mfg. by Winchester in 1948. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, as well as the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the operating sleeve pin and bolt, which are polished "in the white." Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and forend. Aluminum beaded blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and lower assembly. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish overall, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface level pitting (predominately on the receiver), scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as some light wear and thinning in a few areas that show through to brown patina. Receiver exhibits overall striations from a previous cleaning. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks from handling and storage overall, as well as two fair-sized impressions on the right side of the buttstock, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-1446/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
