RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 784389. Bbl. 21 7/8". Model 70 bolt-action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1965. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations. Left side of the receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, with the S# marked on the right side of the chamber. Bbl. exhibits a blue finish, with the receiver, bolt handle, and bolt shroud exhibiting a dull blue finish. Bolt is jeweled in-the-white, with the trigger guard and floorplate exhibiting a black enamel type finish. One-piece checkered wood Monte Carlo pistol grip buttock. Stock is fitted with a brown leather sling. Ramped and aluminum beaded blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. Receiver is fitted with two black aluminum scope rails. CONDITION: Good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory finishes overall, exhibiting few spots of light wear, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of light pitting, while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered superficial marks and some minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-7148/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
