Stylish custom rifle built on a Pre 64 Model 70 action stocked by the Famous Leonard Mews of Appleton, Wisconsin. Mews worked for Weatherby in the late 1940's & early 50's & is credited w/ designing the Weatherby stock as it's known today. According the Roy Weatherby, Mews was his first & best stock maker ever. Features include 5 panel checkered bolt handle w/ clam shell pattern jeweled on bolt & extractor. Custom bolt release, safety, trigger & floorplate release are gold finished. Leupold VARI-XIII 2.5x8 gloss finished scope w/ duplex reticle on Conetrol 2 piece mts. Monte Carlo cheekpiece sporter stock w/ European styling of exhibition Bastgone walnut w/ deep brown & reddish tones having tight fiddle figure. Forearm & wrist have borderless fleur-de-lis fancy hand checkering. Stock features black schnabel tip, black grip cap w/ white diamond, & sculpted swivel bases. LOP: 13" over deep dish horn buttplate w/ skipline checkering & fleur de lis highlights at peak. Weight w/ scope: 8 lbs., 1.3 oz. CONDITION: bbl. & action retain 99% custom blue w/ receiver acquiring a slight plum cast w/ age. Stock has very good oil type custom finish. Crisp mechanics. Near excellent bore.
