HALF-OCTAGONAL .38 WCF BARREL. Lot consists of:1) Cal. 348. S# 13910. Bbl. 24". Model 1871 bbl.'d action mfg. by Winchester in 1938. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Receiver is in-the-white, with the bbl. being blued. CONDITION: receiver retains traces of blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation and pitting overall (2nd digit in S# mostly obscured). Bbl. retains fair amounts of its blue finish, exhibiting oxidation, pitting, and striations from cleaning overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of oxidation, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. 2) Half-octagonal Winchester bbl. measuring 26" chambered in 38 WCF. Top flat is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Bbl. finish has been stripped and polished, with the bbl. being in-the-white. CONDITION: bbl. retains a bright appearance, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of light pitting and oxidation overall. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent moderate pitting and a bulge towards the muzzle, while retaining strong rifling throughout. (25-1677/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
