Cal. 22 S, L, LR. NSN. Bbl. 25 1/4". Model 72A bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester between 1938-1943 and 1946-1949. The left side of the bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip buttstock, with Winchester checkered black synthetic buttplate. Receiver is mounted with a Weaver B6 scope. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Bolt knob exhibits areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Scope exhibits scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation, while retaining a hazy and poor optic. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1821/MLW). CURIO. $200-400.
