Cal. 38 WCF. S# 1001901. Bbl. 22". Model 92 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1932. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Checkered wood forearm and brown hard rubber capped pistol grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Wood furniture has been sanded and refinished at one time. Unmarked blade front sight (bead absent) with dovetailed semi-buck horn V-notch rear sight. Half length button mag. CONDITION: receiver retains large amounts to the majority of its original blue finish, showing scattered spotted finish loss (primarily on the left side, as well as on the top of the bolt), with some scattered scratches and spots of light surface oxidation. Bbl. and forearm cap retain large amounts of their original blue finish, showing areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with consistent light surface oxidation overall. Left side of bbl. exhibits a patch of mild to moderate pitting. Hammer, lever, and lower receiver tang have mostly faded to gray and brown patinas, showing light pitting. Buttplate has faded to a gray patina with scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation, pitting, and age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks, scratches, and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (25-1309/MLW). CURIO. $600-800.
