STERLING SILVER STOCK COVERS. Cal. 32 WS. S# 775945. Bbl. 20" with replacement pin fastened bead front sight and replacement sporting rear sight, missing elevator. Left side of action has saddle ring. Long wood forearm and straight grip stock with sterling silver covers having 75% coverage of scroll engraving. Right side of stock has raised initials "AM". Lower left corner of stock is stamped "BOHLINMADE/ CALIF./ HOLLYWOOD/ STERLING 10K". Ed Bohlin arrived in this country from his native Sweden in 1910 at age 15. He opened his Hollywood shop in the 1920s, specializing in silver mounted gear and fine leather products. His customer base consisted of many Western movie stars including Tom Mix and Roy Rogers. Rifle mfg. in 1915. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: previous auction listing stating that the initials "AM" stand for motion picture star "Audie Murphy". CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube retain 90% lightly faded blue. Action has 30% blue with balance flaking to brown. Sterling silver stock covers have acquired a pleasing dark tarnish. Sound mechanics.
