LEVER ACTION RIFLE WITH FACTORY BOX & SLEEVE. Cal. 30-30 Win. S# GS18452. Bbl. 20". Model 94 Golden Spike commemorative lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester. The left side of the bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations, with "GOLDEN SPIKE COMMEMORATIVE" marked on the right in gold characters. The left side of the receiver is engraved "1869", followed by a railroad spike and "1969", with a decorative border engraved on the right. Upper receiver tang is marked "OCEANS UNITED BY RAIL".Receiver, bbl. bands, and buttplate exhibiting a gold plated finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight grip buttstock, with plain wood forend. Right side of the buttstock is inlaid with a commemorative medallion. Ramped, hooded, and aluminum beaded blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory box (S# illegible, last 2 digits non-matching) with commemorative cardboard sleeve. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes, exhibiting a few superficial handling marks, with a couple of small concentrated spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting present on the bbl. at the muzzle. Left side of the receiver exhibits a mild line from the saddle ring. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows a few superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. Box shows some wear and water/moisture related staining. Sleeve shows wear, fraying, and a few tears primarily along the outer edges, but otherwise is good. (25-1646/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
