COMMEMORATIVE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-30. S# TR37173. Bbl. 20". Model 94 Theodore Roosevelt commemorative lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester. The left quarter flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations, with "THEODORE ROOSEVELT COMMEMORATIVE" marked on the right quarter flat. The left side of the receiver is engraved "26th President", followed by an American eagle, and "1901-1909", with decorative border engraving present on the right. Upper receiver tang is engraved with Theodore Roosevelt's signature. Receiver, hammer, forend cap, and buttplate exhibit a nickel plated finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish overall. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and forend. Right side of buttstock is inlaid with a commemorative medallion. Dovetailed aluminum beaded blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: non-matching and unrelated factory styrofoam insert and sleeve. CONDITION: receiver retains the vast majority of its original factory nickel plated finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, some scattered spots of bubbling, as well as a few scattered small spots of flaking. Blued parts retain bountiful amounts of their original factory finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of light surface oxidation, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and some minor impressions from handling and storage, but are otherwise good overall. Cardboard sleeve shows some wear and minor tearing at edges, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-1648/MLW). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
