Cal. 32-40. S# 1647. Bbl. 30" octagon having dovetails on top at front and rear (with slot blank) plus on bottom for action spring mounting and forend mounting (includes insert plus screw). "32-40" on top and bottom of bbl. near receiver. Bottom additionally marked: "3" (twice), "V", star and "M". Mfg. 1886 with trigger having small hole at rear in set trigger style. CONDITION: action has light grey patina and no extractor. Trigger functions normally without ability to 'set'; no return spring. Replacement tang screw (shortened tang sight style) and slight slot marks on sear spring screw. No action spring assembly. Bbl has professional refinish appearing very good to excellent with very minor handling marks and occasional small spot of peppery oxidation. Bore is near excellent. Turning bbl. into receiver by hand, it stops with slight gap 180 degrees from final index point. PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh. (01-21290/NW). ANTIQUE. $500-750.
