Cal. 7 M/M (7x57 Mauser). S# 111455. Standard rifle altered to carbine configuration. Bbl. is shortened from 24" to 20" carbine length. Bottom of has "7 M/M" cal. marking w/ "49" date code. Stippled front sight ramp is welded to the shortened barrel & recontoured. Standard bead front sight w/ hood. Sporting rear sight. Proof mark on left side of barrel sits slightly above the proof mark on the receiver. Third style action & safety. Bottom of bolt shows evidence of renumbering. Standard mag. box follower, extractor, extractor collar, ejector & bolt release are correct. Standard straight comb walnut stock. Features include checkered steel buttplate, standard checkering & sling swivels. 1949 manufacture. CONDITION: bbl. retains 98% reblued finish. Action has over 80% finish showing wear spots on receiver w/ edge wear on floorplate. Refinished stock shows lightly worn checkering w/ scattered scratches & marks. Very good bright bore.
