PERRY SINGLE ACTION PISTOL, ENGRAVED TO DR. W. HUDSON, WITH DISPLAY CASE & SPARE BARREL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 228. Bbl. 10". Camp Perry single action only single shot pistol mfg. by Colt in 1926. The left side of the bbl. is marked "CAL .22 LONG RIFLE", with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with a "4" above the "VP" proof, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame and bbl. exhibit professionally executed scroll engraving with areas of a punch dot background, with the right side of the bbl. also being engraved "Dr. W. Hudson". Breechblock exhibits matching style scroll engraving, with foliate motifs present between the flutes. Metal components exhibit a professionally reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece custom checkered white grips, with carved Colt medallions present at the top of the panels. Patridge blade front sight, with adj. square notch rear sight. Frame features a checkered backstrap, with the trigger exhibiting a checkered face. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl. crane, and breechblock. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood display case featuring a green fabric lining and containing 2 vintage 50-rd. boxes of Remington .22 LR ammunition, 1 8" bbl., as well as 2 keys. Front sight on spare bbl. is absent. CONDITION: excellent, as professionally refinished, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks overall. Trigger exhibits areas of wear and thinning on either side, with the ejector rod exhibiting some wear from use. Mirror bore, as refinished, exhibiting a few scattered spots of light pitting and a small spot of dark pitting towards the center, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some areas of light to mild smoothing, as well as cracking on the bottom of the panels, while exhibiting a pleasing age related patina. Display case shows some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Spare bbl. exhibits some superficial handling marks and a few scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation, while retaining a mirror bore and strong rifling throughout.
