PISTOL WITH ORIGINAL WOOD/LEATHER SHOULDER STOCK. Cal. 9mm Bergmann. S# 6256. Bbl. 5 7/8". Rare Bergmann Model 1910 pistol, with slotted backstrap for a shoulder stock attachment. The pistol otherwise of standard configuration with fixed front and rear sights. The left side of the bbl. extension marked with reference to patent followed by name of the mfg., location in Herstal-Liege, and Bergmann's patent. The Full S# and importer identification are marked under the forward frame extension. Usual scattering of Belgian proofs on the right side of the bbl., the bbl. extension, the frame, and on top of the bolt. Backstrap vertically slotted for shoulder stock. Fitted with standard wood grips with fine checkering in a circle surmounting a diagonal band of deeper checkering. Mag. release inside trigger guard. Correct matching mag. with 2 transverse indictor holes, concentric circles at bottom of either side, and detachable floorplate. MAGS: 1 6-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: complimenting the pistol is an original wood and leather wrapped shoulder stock. The body has a flap lid with brass stud closure. On the back is a pair of "D" loops and a belt hook. There are no shoulder straps. CONDITION: pistol retains at least 97-98% of its bright original rust blue showing minimal sharp edge wear at muzzle, tips of rails, and some spotty discoloration on backstrap, principally between the lug slot and lanyard loop. Comparable condition mag. and grips grips. Limited disassembly suggests the grip numbers are overstamped to match. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG shoulder stock with whose black dyed lid is an old replacement. The balance is VG or better. A wonderful pistol and a super scarce stock, an ensemble that is rarely offered for sale. (25-3436/LMA). CURIO. $8,000-11,000.
