Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 9528t. Bbl. 23 5/8". Blade front sight with protective ears. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Action screws are later unnumbered replacements, bolt is a WW2 K98k replacement with handle being renumbered to match in a modern font & mismatched small parts. Other visible parts are matching to receiver. Receiver ring has 1917 date, Erfurt markings & Imperial German inspection stamps. Blued finish with old touch up finish. Rear band screw is missing causing band to be loose & front band screw not inserting all the way. Walnut stock set with faint Imperial stamps & left side sling provisions. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows a few gouges, scattered dings, a couple chips & handling marks. Metal is fading to gray with touch up finish throughout including buttplate, some chipping around front action screw hole, a couple small spots of pitting, scattered edge wear & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good plus bright bore. (25-2204/MJC). CURIO. $800-1200.
