Cal. 303 Brit. NSN. Bbl. 28". Blade front sight with hood. MK2 ladder rear sight graduated to 2200yds. This is one of 20,000 Ross rifles purchased by the U.S. government to train American troops during WWI. Ross 1905*** rifle with Harris thumb actuated follower. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivel & white paint "A65" rack number. Right side of butt has varied Canadian stamps with 1908 date & underside of wrist has US flaming bomb marking. CONDITION: stock has a darkened appearance with an older added oil finish, an added relief cut above left side of recoil bolt, a couple chips & cracks on handguard, some gouges, dings & handling marks. Metal is a dull gray oxidized patina with some pitting, areas turning gray, handling marks & edge wear. Safety not engaging but action otherwise appears functional when hand cycled. Dark poor bore with oxidation & pitting but discernable rifling. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (25-4213/MJC). CURIO. $600-900.
