Cal. 30-06. S# 155370. Bbl. 26" Winchester 2-18 dated with flaming bomb. "W" marked blade front sight with protective ears. "W" marked aperture rear sight graduated to 1600yds. Handguard appears to be of Remington mfg., other visible parts appear to be of Winchester mfg. Barreled action has original blued finish. Bottom metal & bolt assembly have mixed parkerized finishes. Walnut stock set with "W" at forend tip & bottom mounted sling swivels. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework appearance with a few light chips, scattered dings & handling marks. Bands & front sight assembly are a silvery-gray color with a couple patches of pitting & scattered oxidation. Barreled action retains 70% original blue with scattered fading & oxidation. Bolt & bottom metal retain most of their arsenal rework parkerized finishes with some finished over pitting on bottom metal, scattered fading to gray & some edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore with some light frosting. (24-5346/MJC). CURIO. $700-1000.
