Overall length 10 1/2". Blade 6 1/2". Knife appears unmarked. Brass knuckle guard & hilt. This style knife was previously named the 1st Battalion Ranger model but recently it has been determined that these knives originated in Australia. The 1st Ranger Battalion fought i North Africa, Sicily & Italy, so a Ranger connection to these model knives is ruled out. It is possible however that these knives saw service against the Japanese in the PTO. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked tan leather scabbard that has an "X" carving on the reverse. CONDITION: brass hilt & knuckle guard are a mustard yellow patina w/ a couple small dents, some dings & scattered oxidation. Blade appears cleaned long ago w/ scattered oxidation & light pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18558/MJC). $600-800.
