Cal. 303 Brit. S# BB2826. Bbl. 20 1/2" with flash hider. Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 800yds. Matching numbers on socket & bolt handle. Forend appears to be mismatched & other parts unnumbered. Carbine has proper Jungle Carbine lightning cuts. Left side of receiver has No. 5 MKI & Century import markings. Left side of socket has M/47C BSA marking & 1945 date. Consignor states this rifle was part of a grenade trials batch in the BB prefix. Suncorite finish. Hardwood stock set. Right side of butt has faint post independence Ishapore roundel. MAGS: 1-10 rd. numbered to a different gun. CONDITION: stock set appears sanded with handguard having a different finish, stock set otherwise shows a few storage gouges, some dings & handling marks. Metal retains 85% arsenal rework Suncorite with scattered flaking, edge wear, handling marks & light oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore with a couple small spots of pitting. (25-2710/MJC). CURIO. $400-600.
