Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 2437d. Bbl. 19 3/8". Blade front sight with hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1000m. Bolt is mismatched but is of the correct 33/40 type. Stock number is very faint but it appears to match. Receiver ring has "dot 1942" markings denoting mfr. by Waffen Werke Brunn I in 1942. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & reinforced buttplate. No discernable inspection stamps on right side of butt. No cleaning rod present. Rear band has later replacement screw. CONDITION: stock set appears cleaned with a 2" crack behind upper tang, a glue repaired handguard crack ahead of rear sight, a few gouges, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 20% original blue with overall fading to gray, some dings, edge wear & scattered oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered light pitting & frosting but strong rifling. (25-2184/MJC). CURIO. $2000-3000.
