Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser) S# 9497g. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight with hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Bolt parts are mismatched but all other visible parts are matching to receiver with most parts bearing correct eagle "214" inspection stamps. Receiver ring marked "duv 41" denoting 1941 mfr. by Berliner Lubecker. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & leather sling that is broken at rear. Right side of butt has faint eagle "H" Heer (Army) inspection stamp. Cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1940 dated EUF Horster. S84/98 bayonet. No scabbard present. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows a couple notches behind upper tang, an extensive repaired crack on top of wrist, a couple light chips, some staining, dings & handling marks. Metal retains 50% blue with some dings on floorplate, further dings on bands, scattered fading to gray, edge wear, & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered frosting & oxidation but evident rifling. (25-2831/MJC). CURIO. $500-800.
