This lot consists of two white foam backed WW2 German themed prints. The first is titled "Bismarck into Battle" by Mark Postlethwaite. It depicts the famous battleship Bismarck leaving the Grimstadfjord & being escorted by four ME-110s. This print is numbered 721/850. It is also signed by seven German & British veterans including three German survivors of the Bismarck. The frame measures 31" x 23" & shows some shelf wear. The other print is an artist's portrait of Major Werner Freiherr von Beschwitz w/ a Tiger I tank in the background. The print is signed by Werner Freiherr von Bescwitz & the print is numbered 170/500. Werner Freiherr von Beschwitz was a winner of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross & he commanded Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 505 from September 1943 to November 1944. Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 505 was equipped w/ Tiger I & later Tiger II tanks & it fought on the Eastern Front notably at the Battle of Kursk. The frame measures 29" x 23 1/2" & it shows moderate edge wear. (02-16953-16/MJC). $200-400.
