Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# F479. Bbl. 31 3/8". Standard Type I sights. Type I Japanese rifle made in Italy for the Japanese Navy. The Type I rifle was used by IJN forces at the Battle of Kwajalein. Blued finish. Hardwood stock with two piece butt & bottom mounted sling swivels. No cleaning rod present. CONDITION: refinished stock has added varnish with some black paint splatter spots, dings, handling marks & scratches. Metal retains 50% arsenal blue with scattered fading to gray, edge wear, ,some scratches possibly from cleaning, varnish overrun & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with a few notable patches of pitting. (25-2862/MJC). CURIO. $200-300.
