Cal. 303 Brit. S# 29C0106. Bbl. 25" with British sale proofs. Blade front sight with protective ears. MKII ladder aperture rear. Aperture & elevation adjustment latch are both bent. Matching numbers on socket & bolt handle. Other parts unnumbered or mismatched. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. PROPERTY". Left side of socket has Savage "S" & 1942 date. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Right side of butt has "FR" rebuild & faint indiscernible white paint unit marking. MAGS: 1-10 rd. mismatched. CONDITION: stock set shows a large chip to left of buttplate & another notable chip on right side of forend behind rear band. Stock otherwise shows a few gouges including a large on on front right of forend, scattered dings, scratches, staining & handling marks. Metal is mostly a worn gray color with scattered traces of varied arsenal finishes, edge wear, handling marks & some oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with some strong rifling but some scattered moderate frosting. (25-2775/MJC). CURIO. $200-300.
