Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 6868p. Bbl. 29". Blade front sight. Lange Vizier rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching numbers on the receiver, bbl., rear sight, front action screw, trigger guard, floorplate, follower, and front sight. Other parts have mixed numbers, with the bayonet lug being WWII German-marked and the bolt shroud being an unnumbered Czech replacement. Receiver top has an imperial crown and "DANZIG 1915" markings. Receiver and bolt assembly, properly "in the white". Other parts are blued. Replacement walnut stock set with takedown disc. Stock appears to be of non-German mfg. and has an "A" marking on the right side of the butt. Parade sling swivels with a repro leather sling. Chilean replacement cleaning rod is present. CONDITION: stock set has epoxy repair at wrist that is slightly misaligned towards the rear so that there is a space behind the trigger guard assembly plus scattered dings, scratches and handling wear. Receiver and bolt are turning gray with some dings and oxidation. Bands appear bright with scattered oxidation and dings from improper removal. Balance of metal is turning gray with scattered traces of arsenal rework blue, some light oxidation, and dings. Fair bore with scattered frosting and pitting but evident rifling. (24-5935/MJC-NW).
