Cal. 37mm. S# 15128. All visible numbers match. Bbl. 10" smooth bore. These single shot break-open flare guns were developed during WWI & were used by the Royal Flying Corp. They were later sold in the US & used by Police departments. Bbl. is marked on the left side "1916 / WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD. / LONDON & BIRMINGHAM NO.1 MARK 1". Two view marks w/ broad arrows. Frame is marked over trigger guard on left side "NO.1 MARK 1". Bbl., frame & buttstock all have the opposed arrows indicating sold out of service. Buttstock is marked on the right side "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD. LONDON & BIRMINGHAM". Checkered brass grip on right side. Left side has steel frame attachment for buttstock. CONDITION: metal has traces of blue turning overall gray & patina. Buttstock has moderate wear, scratches & handling marks. Brass grip on right side turning a pleasing patina. (02-24535/RW).
