ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Lebel. S# 55222. Bbl. 31 1/2". Rifle is a transitional Model 16 using a St. Etienne receiver marked "MLE / 1907/15". Rifle is equipped w/ mag. extension which has a spring loaded dust cover increasing the mag. capacity from 3 to 5 rds. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400 meters. Rectangular front sight. Straight bolt handle. Stacking rod is present. Walnut stock set. Buttstock has no visible markings. Late type tan leather sling. CONDITION: stock set w/ added finish has the wear, staining & handling marks commensurate w/ long hard service. Buttstock has inletted repair on right side near toe. Handguard has repaired crack forward of lower band. Metal has worn arsenal rework blue finish w/ scratches & handling marks. Bolt body is turning gray.
