Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 4887ll. Bbl. 29". Blade front sight. "Rollercoaster" rear sight graduated to 2000m. All visible matching numbers, including cleaning rod. Midwar 1916 DWM-made Gewehr 98. Firing pin tip is bent and may have been repaired. Blued bbl. Receiver, bolt, bands, bolt stop, and bottom metal have a cleaned appearance. Walnut stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels and repro leather sling. Imperial cartouches and stock markings are strong. CONDITION: refinished stock set has added varnish with a few plug repairs on the right side of butt, a few abrasions, scattered dings, and handling marks. Bbl. retains 60% original blue with scattered fading to gray and moderate oxidation; other parts are cleaned-to-bright with some light pitting and scattered oxidation.
