Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 5930t. Bbl. 23 5/8". Blade front sight with protective ears. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Bolt is of the correct type; it has two numbers, neither of which match the receiver. Other visible numbers are matching to the receiver. Receiver top has Erfurt marking and 1915 date. Buttplate has a "3" Spandau depot stamp. Blued finish. Walnut stock set with left side sling provisions. Stock set has strong Imperial German cartouches. CONDITION: stock set shows a notable area of dirt staining at the toe, scattered dings, dents, and handling wear. Bolt has a cleaned, gray appearance with some light pitting and oxidation staining. Balance of metal has a mostly gray patina with scattered oxidation. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bore is mostly bright but shows scattered light pitting and frosting. (24-5025/MJC).
