MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Carcano. S# B18391. Bbl. 30 3/4". Import-marked on the right side of the bbl. The bbl. is marked on the top over the chamber "TERNI" and marked on the top right flat "17." Tangent rear sight, graduated to 2000 meters. Blade front sight. Straight, bold handle. Cleaning rod and bayonet lug are present. Walnut buttstock with replacement hardwood handguard. Buttstock is marked on the left side with "ARTIG. FAB. D'ARMI TERNI (royal crown over shield) 22" in an oval above "RIPARAZIONE." Unmarked vintage military sling 7/8" in width. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 11 3/4" fullered blade bayonet. Straight crossguard with ball finial; crossguard is marked on the right side "C. GNUITI-1942." Smooth walnut grips secured by two rivets. Black leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. Unmarked leather frog. Bayonet retains 50% of its original blue finish, with thinning and light wear. Grips have light wear and staining. Scabbard is fading to brown; stitching remains tight. Brown frog has notable wear and missing leather at the belt loop. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear and handling marks with moderate staining. Markings remain largely visible. Metal has 60% of its original blue with thinning and wear. Bore is turning dark in the grooves, with worn lands. (24-6544/RW). CURIO. $300-500.
