SGT. LEON E WILCOX OF THE US ARMY 77th DIVISION, 306th REGIMENT. Sgt. Wilcox recounted his time during WWI through the end of the war in a small memo book. The very detailed was transcribed and reads from the time he left in April of 1918, his first experience in the trenches in June, numerous combat incidents, and finally his discharge in May 1919. He later gave a speech for school children on memorial day, this group contains the handwritten speech he gave to the children and an envelope from Mrs. Wilcox recounting the event, as well as, photographs, newspaper clippings, 2 books on the history of the 77th div, WWI Victory medal with 3 campaign bars, French Commemorative war medal, American Legion Vice Commander medal, & a Todd Shipyard calendar from Dec. 1943.
