This group contains 1 US M1917 helmet with a sanded, dark OD finish and subdued Marine Corps EGA. The helmet has been punched, not drilled. The liner is black-coated canvas with a net interior. Brown leather chinstrap. / 1 Campaign hat in dull OD wool felt with a brown silk hatband and leather chinstrap. The hat has a gilded brass EGA on the front. The interior shows a brown leather sweatband. / 1 Mills M1918 khaki cartridge belt with 9 pockets to hold two 7-shot magazines each, along with a 2-pocket cartridge pouch for M1911 clips. / 1 Pair of faded khaki cotton canvas puttees. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wooden spool used as a hat stand. REFERENCE: Illustrated examples of the leggings and helmet can be seen in "Grunt Gear" by Alec S. Tulfoff, pages 88, 92-93 respectively.
