Cal. 45 ACP. S# 863319 (S# range 856,405 - 900,000, approx. 60,000 batch mfg. 1943). Correct features include: blued 5" High Standard Type 18 bbl., Type 10 Keyes Fiber drab brown grips, Type B recoil spring guide, Type C magazine release lock, Type 3 recoil spring plug, long tang grip safety, Type 2 mainspring housing pin, & short trigger. Later features include: Type D safety lock tab, Type C slide lock, Type 7 mainspring housing w/ Du-Lite finish & w/out lanyard loop, & slide w/ Type C rear sight & Type C front sight. Slide is stamped "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" & individually stamped "D44" in front of serrations on left side; Frame has clearance cuts, "FJA" proof & appearing restamped "M1911" on right side. MAGS: NONE. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brass ID tag marked "117". CONDITION: slide, frame, & slide lock have been reparkerized obscuring crossed cannons cartouche w/ very good appearance showing wear spots throughout. Good blue on bbl. w/ loss commensurate w/ cycling. Very good grips w/ sm. gouge on right panel. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Thomas J. Mulligan. (23-2211/MD).
