Cal. 7.65 Arg. S# 75132. Bbl. 21 1/2". Blade front sight with protective ears. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1900m. Bolt and mag. are mismatched, but other visible numbers match the receiver. The 89/36 was an interwar Belgian Mauser converted from an 89 long rifle to a short rifle configuration using a variety of 89 and 98 features. Receiver top has MAE arsenal markings. Black enamel finish. Hardwood stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels. Right side of the stock has a strong "MAE 1936" cartouche. No cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock set appears lightly sanded with a large armorer patch repair at the toe, a large handguard crack, a couple large epoxy-repaired cracks, and a chip on the right side of the action. Stock otherwise shows scattered abrasions, scratches, dings, and handling wear. Metal retains 40% of the arsenal black enamel, with scattered flaking and thinning to gray.
