BELONGING TO MAX WEISS. A fine example of a WWII German Allgemeine SS officer's uniform for an untersturmfuhrer of the 4th SS. The tunic has 4 aluminum pebble finished buttons down the front and one on each of the four flap pockets. The collar is trimmed in black and white twisted cord, and the tabs are silver bordered " 4 / 113 " & 2 pips with 2 silver bars. The single shoulder board is 6 bullion cords with a "4" all on a black felt background. The 2 award ribbon bar is for the WWI 2nd class Iron Cross and the 1914-18 War Service Cross with Swords. Badges are worn through loops and include the DRL Sports Badge and the WWI Black Wound Badge. The left sleeve has an SS armband and a red bordered cuff title with a bullion "4". The interior is lined in gray rayon and has a label below the collar that reads " Hans Schwengler Weisbaden ". The let lower packet has a paper that reads. "1296 Stationiert: Suben Name: Weiss Max Charge: pr Wm Mass: 44, 70, 21, 80, 94, 89 1 Tuch-Bluse off(Ho) Nr. 752" and "Lieferungsunternehmen der Kleidermacher A. G.". CONDITION: the entire tunic shows light wear overall with light soiling. The armband has slight moth damage. Bullion on cuff title is a bit worn. (02-24855/BF). $3000-4000.
