A good late war crusher style Wehrmacht General Officer’s visor cap. The crown is a fine blue-green wool with a forest green wool felt band. The entire hat is piped in cellon. The eagle is good quality silver bullion. The wreath & cockade are also silver bullion with red & black highlights. No chinstrap, as expected. Tan sweatband with rose-colored rayon liner. Diamond shaped sweat shield with lengthy illegible markings underneath. CONDITION: hat shows no notable mothing. Bullion insignia show light wear. Visor is a bit crazed, but solid. Interior shows significant sweat stains. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18237/BF). $2,000-3,000.
