A fine example of a WWII German Hunting Association dagger measuring 18" overall with a beautifully etched blade marked " ORIGINAL (logo) Eickhorn SOLINGEN ". Etching includes various hunting and forest scenes with game animals. The spine is etched with an oak leaf motif. Silvered deer leg crossguard with hoof finials and down turned shell guard that features a grouse. Oak leaf embellished ferrule and pommel with an acorn finial. Stag horn grip with hunting association insignia on the front. Scabbard body appears to be dark green leather with plated mounts and an acorn frog stud. The tip has a finely engraved stag in the woods on the face. CONDITION: blade has nearly complete original factory finish and the balance of the the dagger shows very light wear. Scabbard shows only minor finish loss. (02-24932/BF). NON-GUN. $700-1,000.
