A good example of a WWII German Hunting Association dagger measuring 19 3/4" overall with a etched blade marked " CARL EICKHORN (logo) SOLINGEN ". Etching includes various hunting and forest scenes with game animals. The spine is etched with an oak leaf motif. Silvered deer leg crossguard with hoof finials and down turned scallop shell guard. Plain ferrule and pommel with a rudimentary finial. Stag horn grip with hunting association insignia on the front. Scabbard body appears to be black leather with plated mounts and an acorn frog stud. CONDITION: blade has gray patina with wear to the etching. Hilt and scabbard show loss of finish but remain undamaged. (02-24931/BF). NON-GUN. $600-800.
